Message from Director, Mark Tummons – Fall/Winter Recreation Guide
This Recreation Guide is packed with activities for young and old “er”; individuals and families, sports and cultural activities, festivals and events, and much, much more. And like any great recipe, none of these would even be possible, without staff that are dedicated, committed, creative and have a sincere desire to serve this wonderful community that we live, work and PLAY in.
The Staff of the Parks and Recreation Department from the highly engaged administrative to our valuable seasonal and part-time – all make a huge difference every day. These folks must be commended for a job well done, and I applaud and am proud to know and work alongside such excellent people. I wish I had the space to share with you many specific examples of employee’s weekly going above and beyond expectations. As you see these employees working in our parks, community centers, Greenways, sports fields and special events, please say “thank you” for a job well done.
And in mentioning greenways, special events, parks, community centers - fall and winter is the perfect time to get out and explore all that Clarksville has to offer. Nearly every day, I hear people say about our parks and facilities, “I didn’t know this existed, or that was offered or that could be done”. So “Take advantage – don’t let them pass you by”.
