Parks & Recreation

A Message From Director Mark Tummons
Spring and Summer are upon us and the Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation has been listening to the needs and desires of our Citizens and actively planning for an excellent 2010 year. I have no doubt that you will find something for you and everyone in your family to be involved with during the next several months. And if by chance there is an activity or event you’re interested in and don’t see, let us know, we’ll always do our best to explore new partnership opportunities to provide quality recreation programming to the citizens of Clarksville.

I want to share that I appreciate all our citizen volunteers and leaders who help us make things happen. Without you we couldn’t do most of what we do. In addition, a hearty thank you is given to the CPRD Staff. Their dedication, drive, ambition, creativity and knowledge is tremendous.

And also keep in mind that beyond the activities listed in our Guide, that you and your family can enjoy many parks to bike, walk or jog, throw a Frisbee, walk your dog, and picnic. Come out and enjoy the Clarksville Greenway located at the end of Pollard Road, the Riverwalk at McGregor Park, and various playgrounds and other amenities throughout the City.

Coupled with our new mission statement: “Building a healthy community by providing a variety of positive experiences to enhance life values for individuals, families and our diverse culture”, our number one goal each day is to come to work to make Clarksville the most liveable city in America. With your help we will achieve this.
